This inspires me to try mosaics next. This mosaic cat is a wonderful example of the versatility of this medium.

It is interesting that shades of purple and blue, lime green, and white can be combined to make a very realistic picture of a cat. A good choice of grout color makes all the difference, too.

  1. I love your mosaic cat! Great pattern and color choices. I did download your celtic shamrock. Can’t wait to get started on it. Thanks for the free pattern.

  2. Hi Pat, Thanks for the compliments. I did not make the mosaic cat. It was made by cbmosaics. See the link in my post to look at more of her great work.
I did make the Celtic shamrock pattern, however, and I hope you enjoy it. Send me a jpg of your finished project and I will post it.

  3. Amazing piece of artwork, congratulations for your great work!

  4. lovely cat as i know a few people that would like it . but at moment cant seam to be able to down load it

  5. That is a very nice piece. I have never tried to attempt creating a stained glass before but now you have me interested in trying one. Thanks, you just gave me a great christmas gift idea!

  6. There are patterns designed specifically for mosaics, but you do not have to be limited by using just mosaic patterns. If you find a stained glass pattern, you can easily adapt it for mosaics.

  7. Stained glass is really beautiful especially if the image being portrayed is carefully made through the glass. Too many cuts and curves can turn into a disaster.

  8. Hey, thanks so much for posting this photo of my mosaic! I have a special fondness for this one, as it is my first (and only) childhood cat I had for many years. I’m happy that you like it. :)

    • Hi, Christine. I love your cat mosaic! You have several others on Flickr that are also very beautiful. You really have inspired me to try mosaics.
