Make a Quick Christmas Suncatcher

by Gwynne

Christmas is fast approaching. Have you got your suncatchers, ornaments, and Christmas gifts ready yet? it can be difficult to complete projects quickly with work, school, kids, and other competing responsibilities.
Don’t panic! Here’s a suggestion to help you finish early with less stress.
Have you considered a [tag]pre-cut stained glass kit[/tag]?

It’s OK, it’s not really cheating. After all, it’s better to create a nice looking piece from a kit than not to create one at all. Most of your family and friends won’t even know that you cheated took a shortcut.

Go ahead and just take a look at some of the really cute pre-cut kits available.
They might make great projects to do with your kids. Order soon and take care of other things while your pre-cut kit is shipped to you.
Stained Glass Warehouse has these holiday pre-cut kits: Snowman, Poinsettia, Snowflake, Wreath, and Angel.

Delphi Glass has the following seasonal pre-cut kits: a selection of Santas, poinsettia wreath, and a Christmas Moose.

AmeriGlas has an angel kit.

Maple City Stained Glass has these holiday kits: a nutcracker, an angel, a moose, and two Santas.

Down East Stained Glass has pre-cut glass pieces, not in kits: Christmas stocking, ornament, holly leaves, bells, and dove

Glass Sorcery’s Free Christmas Stained Glass Patterns

by Gwynne

Here are three [tag]free stained glass patterns[/tag] I made for [tag]Christmas[/tag]. The patterns could be either suncatchers or tree ornaments depending on how large you make them. Consider this an early gift!

Santa_Kitties.jpgThe first [tag]pattern[/tag] is Santa Kitties, two cute kitties in Santa hats. I kept the pieces simple in order to keep the glass cutting and assembly quick and easy. Consequently, you will need to glue on or paint the noses. Paint the eyes, whiskers, mouth & toes, or, if you like, make the whiskers from wire.

You can download it in Black & White

or in Glass Eye 2K format.

Santa_Puppy.jpgThe second pattern is Santa Puppy, an adorable yellow lab pup in a Santa hat. Again I kept the pieces simple for fast & easy construction. Paint on the toe lines, pupils, and left hind leg fold line.

You can download it in Black & White

or in Glass Eye 2K format.

Santa_Ratty.jpgThe third pattern is Santa Ratty. I made this pattern in memory of all of my sweet pet ratties who have gone on to their reward.
Attach the white pom-pom on top of the seams to avoid cutting awkward pieces for the back end of the rat. You can also paint the toe lines for each foot onto a single piece of pink glass to avoid cutting out & foiling tiny toes.

You can download it in Black & White

or in Glass Eye 2K format.

I hope you enjoy these three patterns.

Merry early Christmas!
